Our Story

Blacktop Boutique is more than just a store—it’s a tribute. My name is Sarah Miller, and I am the owner of Blacktop Boutique. When I was a kid, I always thought it would be fun to have my very own store. I would set my room up to resemble one, and tape price tags on whatever I could find around the house. My parents didn’t appreciate the fact that they had to buy the candle they already bought to put in the living room AGAIN—but they supported me nonetheless.

I worked in retail for many years. Although I always thought having a store would be fun, it wasn’t initially what I REALLY wanted to do with my life. I’m a classically trained singer/songwriter. I still dream of performing with symphonies and spending hours in the studio. Like so many others, the COVID pandemic forced me to change my direction. So, after working many years of retail, it grew into a passion and I rediscovered my love for it all. There’s just something about finding that perfect thing that gets you EXCITED, whether it’s a top that makes you feel amazing about yourself, or a gift you know they’ll love. Watching the faces of customers light up was one of my driving forces all those years working in retail.

My other driving force, my dad, is the real reason I’m here today. He passed unexpectedly in 2021. My world shattered. He always had my back. He encouraged me to be my best and pursue my dreams. He was also a really big car guy, and the inspiration for the name “Blacktop Boutique”. We went to hundreds of car shows in my life, so naturally I developed a passion for that, too. After watching me thrive in retail all those years, my dad said "Why aren't YOU doing this?".
